About Math Homework

Math Homework (again, and again. SORRY!). Please help?
We have a possible quiz tomorrow and I REALLY want to figure out how to solve the following questions just in case our teacher will pattern the test that way. I'm sorry if I'm desperate, but I just want to solve these problems by myself! My teacher won't be of much help. :( Anyway, here are the questions. 1. A car traveling at 60 km/h left town at 9:00 A.M. Another car traveling at 65 km/h left the same town 30 minutes later to overtake the first. At what time did the second car overtake the first car? 2. Nellie noticed she had finished one-third of the flower garlands she had to make and that if she finished eight more, she would have finished one-half of them. How many garlands was she supposed to make? 3. A piece of wire 20 dm long is cut into two pieces, one of which is bent into a circle and the other into a square enclosing the circle. Find the length of the diameter of the circle. (Use pi = 22/7) 4. The ratio of Charlie's age to Peter's age is 3:5. In how many years will their ages be in the ratio 3:4? (There are several answers possible) Hope you could help me out! And please explain, if you could. I really want to learn this stuff. Thanks!

4. The ratio of Charlie's age to Peter's age is 3:5. In how many years will their ages be in the ratio 3:4? (There are several answers possible) Well its a trick question. there are always ageing at the same time. so it will always be 3:5 :)
Answer 3 :
You should put the answers that you got and solve them yourself and then we can tell you if they are right or not. Us just giving you the answers wont help you as much when you vizualise and solve them for yourself. (i hope this helps) if you put the answers on here i will check them)
Answer 4 :
Okay here goes .... 1) As far as I can tell the answer should be about 4 o' clock. ** At 10 car#1 will have travelled 60 km & car#2 32.5 km 11 - 120 & 97.5 12 - 180 & 162.5 1 - 240 & 227.5 2 - 300 & 292.5 3 - 360 & 357.5 4 - 420 & 422.5 ** 2) This one is trial and error. Basically you just substitute numbers in until you get the right answer. She has made 16 already. After making 8 more she will have 24. 24 is half of 48. 16x3 = 48. 3) Sorry I am rubbish with circles and have no idea what to do :( 4) Again trial and error. If Charlie is 6 then Peter would be 10. (3:5) 6 years later .... Charlie would be 12 and Peter would be 16 (3:4) Hope that helped somewhat.... :)

About What do you think of my story

What do you think of my story?
It was the eve of Christmas Eve. Reese viewed the scene of Central Park from the balcony of the rented penthouse. Her eyes traveled towards a little boy and his mother taking a stroll through the park. Petals of snow landed on Reese as she admired the blanket of snow resting on top of Central Park. She heard the glass door open and out came John. He was carrying a wrapped gift in his hand. Presumably for Reese. The gift box was red with a pattern of pink roses on it. "We were gonna unwrap presents later, but I couldn't wait to give you this now." he said, handing the gift to her. She smiled as she took the gift from him. Her fingers massaged the wrapping before she untied the ribbon. Taking her time unwrapping it, she smiled seductively at him. They made quite a pair. They were both low-key and didn't like to get involved with trouble. They were also told that they were one of a kind. When she finally opened it, she saw a perfume set and a bracelet with a golden bear charm. "Thank you!" she exclaimed, pulling him into a tight squeeze. "Wait until you see my present." "Can't wait." he grinned, his green eyes flashing. "New York is so awesome." "I know," gushed Reese, putting her hand on the white railing. "It's beautiful." "Not many stars out here, but it's still a peaceful night." he smiled, putting an arm around her neck. She wanted him to kiss her. Hold her and tell her how attractive she was. But he didn't. Just then Danielle ran outside, her face pinker than ever. "You guys! Come on in! We're opening presents!" With that she ran back inside, giggling crazily. Reese smiled up and John. He took her hand and led her inside the apartment. All thirteen of their friends sat in the room laughing and chattering. Carter, Savannah, and Palma all clinked glasses together. Andy was putting up Palma's model-esque picture on top of a Christmas tree. Elisha and Mark were laughing stupidly as they took a sip from their spiked egg nog. Andy offered Vodka to Savannah, but she just smiled and shook her head. Lucas and Maris were snuggled against the fireplace and the rest were dancing to Selena's "Yo Te Amo". Savannah's handpicked request. Glittering lights strewed across the Christmas tree with silver garland orbiting it. Reese felt like she was in a fancy hotel. Mahogany and oak was the main decor of the apartment. It almost reminded her of Andy's house. "Present time!" hollered Jen, dressed in a red silk kimono. "Savannah gets to open hers up first." Reese was elated because she wanted Savannah to see the person she got for her. Savannah would skyrocket at the sight of the gift. Savannah smiled shyly and walked over to her section of presents. There were about twenty presents for her. "Gosh," she said, "how do you guys spend this much money?" "We know people." laughed Andy, handing his present to her. "Uh, no!" joked Holly. "She's opening mine first!" "I just handed her mine." Andy said with mock-indignant.  "I'll open both at the same time, okay?" smiled Savannah. "I love being fair." Reese watched in anticipation as Savannah opened the first gift. She loved watching people's expressions when they opened up their presents. Knowing Savannah, she would be crying. Reese had more fun watching people open presents than her opening her own. Savannah pulled out an American Doll out of the box. The gift was from Andy. He knew how much she collected barbies and American Dolls. Savannah hugged him and started with Holly's present. Reese giggled as Savannah gingerly lifted the Burberry scarf up. Savannah smiled happily and said, "Aww...a matching scarf like yours. Thanks!" "We're bffs!" cheered Holly, bouncing up and down on the brown couch. "Of course I would get you a scarf like mine!" Then it was Carter's turn to hand her the gift. He had about four presents for her. Savannah's eyes brimmed as she took a look at the carefully wrapped gifts. The wrappings were all silk and the color of lavender. She took the gift bag and plucked the card off of it. Reese loved getting cards. It always meant money. "Yay!" she squealed. "A fifty dollar gift certificate to Borders!" Mark stifled a groan. Reese suddenly realized Mark had give her the same exact gift. Then Savannah received a black velvet box presumably holding jewelry. Reese intently watched Savannah peek inside the box. Savannah's dark-brown eyes grew when she saw what was inside it. She let out a soft gasp. Reese wanted to know what it was. "What is it?" Heather asked excitedly. "Diamond earrings." Savannah managed, looking dumbfounded. "Me and Andy pitched in." Carter said proudly. "I'm glad

Yeah thats really good but i honestly wouldn't put it on here anyone could copy it and use it as their own.
Answer 3 :
I like it! I think it's really good. I just have one comment. It gets a little repetitive when you use Reese too much. For example: "Reese viewed the scene of Central Park from the balcony of the rented penthouse. Her eyes traveled towards a little boy and his mother taking a stroll through the park. Petals of snow landed on REESE as..." would sound a little repetitive, but: "Reese viewed the scene of Central Park from the balcony of the rented penthouse. Her eyes traveled towards a little boy and his mother taking a stroll through the park. Petals of snow landed on HER as..." would sound a little better IMO. It's a common thing that I see a lot. Here's another, more clear, example that I invented: 1. "Reese opened her lunch bag. REESE found that she had a peanut butter sandwich." 2. "Reese opened her lunch bag. SHE found that she had a peanut butter sandwich." I exaggerated it more on that one so you could see what I meant. Otherwise, I really, really, like it. I hope I'll see your book in stores someday- good luck!

Answer 1 :
I think you've got a great list there. However, I myself like some Christmas comedy songs mixed in too. Here are few good ones to check out: Bob Rivers - Its The Most Fattening Time Of The Year Bob Rivers - O Christmas Tree (Done with Chainsaws, very good!) Bob Rivers - Police Stop My Car (Take off on José Feliciano - Feliz Navidad) Bob Rivers - The Twelve Pains Of Christmas Bob Rivers - Wreck The Halls Jeff Foxworthy - Redneck 12 Days Of Christmas And some more traditional Christmas songs: Bobby Vee - I'll Be Home For Christmas Brian Setzer Orchestra - The Nutcracker Suite Burl Ives - Rudolph Canterbury Choir - O Christmas Tree Clancy Brothers - Jingle Bells (Buala Bas) Connie Francis - Baby's First Christmas Dr. Seuss - You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch Earth Kitt - Santa Baby José Feliciano - Feliz Navidad Roy Orbison - Pretty Paper The Ventures - Sleigh Ride Celtic Woman - Carol Of The Bells (This has got to be the best version IMO, bagpipe free!! but has a awesome violin solo) Red Hot Chilli Pipers - Auld Lang Syne (If you don't like bagpipes, stay away from this one!) I think that should complete your list. I have a lot of the same Christmas songs as you listed!

About But Why Did the Utah Highway Patrolman Target Truckers

But Why Did the Utah Highway Patrolman Target Truckers?
He shot at two trucks, and killed one trucker. He killed one 4 wheeler earlier. A former Utah policeman is a suspect in at least three of Monday's four rush-hour shootings near Dallas, Texas, including one of two fatal attacks, police said Tuesday.CNN affiliate KSL in Salt Lake City, Utah, provided this file photo of the Dallas suspect, Brian Smith. Click to view previous image 1 of 2 Click to view next image The suspect, Brian Smith, tried to commit suicide after the Monday-evening shootings and was in a hospital in serious condition, Dallas police detective Lt. Craig Miller said. Police used ballistic tests to link Smith, a Utah state police officer for 12 years, to the shootings in which one driver was killed, one was injured by shattered glass and one escaped uninjured, Dallas police detective Lt. Craig Miller said. Miller said it is unclear if Smith was involved in the other fatal shooting, which was the first attack of the evening. Four motorists were attacked along a three-mile stretch near and on the LBJ Freeway, about 10 miles northeast of downtown Dallas, on Monday evening, police said. The first attack, which happened in Garland, Texas, about 5:41 p.m., killed Jorge Lopez. Garland police said Lopez, 20, was sitting in his Nissan at a traffic light when a man in a pickup pulled alongside him and fired shots into his car, killing him. A few minutes after the Garland shooting and two miles away on LBJ Freeway, a gunman fired at two tractor-trailers. Don't Miss * WFAA: Read local coverage of the shootings While one driver escaped injuries, William Scott Miller, 42, of Frankfort, Kentucky, was shot to death behind the wheel of a United Van Lines truck, police said. "He was going to be traveling home," Craig Miller said. "He was about to park his rig. He was going to get on a plane to fly to be with his wife and children for the Christmas season and then come back to this location." Miller called the truck driver a hero, saying he was able to control his rig before he died -- preventing other motorists from being hurt. The fourth attack came a mile west on LBJ Freeway when gunfire shattered the windshield of another tractor-trailer. The bullets missed the driver, but flying glass caused minor cuts, police said. Miller said video from the Garland shooting is available, and specialists were trying to enhance it to bring out details. Businesses along the other routes also may have video that will help police, he said. A friend of Lopez's said he was "a straight-up good guy, never had problems with anybody, never started anything with anybody." "So that's why this seems so out of the blue," Lopez's friend said.

Answer 1 :
Probably because he was pissed off and needed to steam some anger.
Answer 2 :
Ever hear of a postal worker going "postal"? This guy was more than likely a disillusioned peace officer.
Answer 3 :
He just sounds like a nut case, I'm glad he's in custody. That is a terrible tragedy for those poor victims and their families.
Answer 4 :
Cause his wife was probably doing a truckdriver. They do get around.
Answer 5 :
Because regretfully he snapped and found some easy targets.
Answer 6 :
He killed himself. He wasn't a peace officer at the time of the shootings, he was a FORMER Utah Patrolman. I love how this is story has been totally twisted and bended to attack the law enforcement community. People think a cop did this in his own patrol car while on duty, when this guy was a cop in a totally different state before moving.

Answer 1 :
Nah I do not think Dunkin Donuts played much of a part in it myself.
Answer 2 :
When you sink to robbing stores for drugs, as this guy apparently did, you're pretty far down and badly addicted and no doubt twisted up badly.
Answer 3 :
Sometimes, people without any warning just snap and go crazy. It can happen to anyone who has experienced a significant event. It could happen to a college student, it can happen to a housewife and in this case it happened to a cop.
Answer 4 :
No, see he realized that he does not get the officers discount when he retires the force so he flipped out.
Answer 5 :
"Did they discontinue his favorite jelly doughnut at Dunkin Donuts?" That immature question even insults the victims of this terrible tragedy. Clearly, there were things that happened to this outstanding trooper on the job that caused him to become suicidal, including his injury. His cries for help were ignored and he was turned out, a time bomb waiting to go off. This happens all too often, regardless of careers or walks of life. Mental health education is terribly lacking--and results in ignorant questions like the above.

About Dallas Fortworth Shuttle Area

Dallas Fortworth Shuttle Area?
I am going to be traveling to DFW in the next month and will be landing in Terminal E with Delta Airlines. I will be meeting up with a few people at the airport and was told to meet at the "Shuttle Area", next to the "Taxi Area" where we can rent a shuttle to take us to Garland. Besides that no specifics were given. This is my first time traveling alone so I want to have all my plans set up before I go and not starting searching for this area. So, does anyone know what Terminal, or the location of where we can rent shuttles is? Thanks
Dallas - 1 Answers

Answer 1 :
The taxis and shuttles are lined up at each terminal. You'll see them as soon as you step outside. If you have any problem or questions there are volunteers available to help, and they are very visible. You shouldn't have any problem finding your friends.
